DIY holiday manicure

I stumbled upon this great article on Refinery29 for DIY holiday nails. I only wish I could be like some of those people on Pinterest that post pictures of their perfectly painted nails. It always looks so easy to do. Sadly, I'm not one of those people. So here's my take on holiday nails until I can perfect the art...or go to the salon.

It sure is cold outside in my neck of the woods! So...I decided to break out a warm cup of tea in my new favorite mug. It was a gift from a very special friend and the words say it all {girlfriends...right up there with booze + shopping).

Please note my special nod to Anastasia Steele. She is spot on regarding Twinnings green tea. It most definitely is 50 Shades of amazingness.  ❤

Welcome to the weekend!
The holidays are creeping up on us. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. I feel like I just moved into our new home and that was already 2.5 months ago! Sheesh. Time really does fly when you're having fun. ;)

Next weekend will really kick off my holiday season because I'm hosting {my first} thanksgiving dinner party with friends. I cannot wait to show you all the details of what I've been putting together. Here's a sneak peak of the cups I made today.

Hope you haven't missed me too much! It's been a long week and I promise I'll get it together next week!

Well, it's Friday...and that means...another fab find! Here are the two notable things I found this week at my Home Goods store {pics below}. I honestly find such good things there. Thanks to a dear friend of mine who is also super shopping savvy...I have learned the art of looking through EVERY aisle. I believe Forrest Gump said it best, "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get", and in this case...you never know what you're gonna find that you didn't even know you needed. ;) So your mission in preparation of one of my fave days of the year {black Friday} is to take this wonderful advice and hunt your own fab finds down! Election Day

It's Tuesday and a very important one: election day! I hope everyone is able to go out and make a difference in what they stand for OR against.

living room updates

Good morning!
Today is the day my area rug finally arrived. My living room is closer to perfection after almost 6 months of frustration patiently waiting. I'm ecstatic! Here's a recap of all the little updates I've done so far. I would love to hear what you think.
